Daniel has a passion for wildlife and travel photography in particular. Having been fortunate to travel to over 76 countries, he has found many photographic opportunities. In fact it was a work trip to Sabah in Borneo in 2003, with a Canon analogue camera that he began to take photography seriously. His current wish list of photography destinations include The Arctic North, Iceland, Namibia and Northern Finland. He however loves experimenting with all genres including street, landscapes and more recently impressionism through intentional camera movement and multiple exposures.
He grew up in North London but crossed the Thames where he discovered a love of Richmond Park’s ever-changing seasons. Now living in Dorking, he is enjoying discovering the beautiful landscapes of the Surrey Hills, Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
By day, Daniel leads a children’s emergency department and has an interest in global child health, which presented opportunities to live and work overseas including Australia, Rwanda, The Gambia, Malawi and Borneo. He hopes in future to document a photographic portfolio of medical work in some of these settings including the DRC. He recently was given permission by his NHS Trust to record a photojournalism project of life inside a hospital during the COVID pandemic. This will be published in due course.
Daniel switched from Canon to Fujifilm X-Series in 2016 and hasn’t looked back. He currently shoots with Fujifilm X-T4.
